The People's Central Planning Committee Strikes Again

Encinitas will now regulate surf camps.  I do not go to the beach as often as I used to and rarely during the weekdays.  But was this that big of a problem?  Was the public really "crowded out."
Beach regulation is coming fast and furious now.  Once one city passes a smoking ban or surf camp tax, they all do.

Yes people were being crowded out by the surf schools.

The request for the city to look into this problem came from the taxpaying, beach going residents of Encinitas.

This does not eliminate surf schools and only regulates them during the busy summer season.

The new regulation of first floor uses in downtown is hard to believe.

Regulation of the surf schools makes way more sense. The schools were using PUBLIC property for private gain at the expense of everyone else who wants to use the public space. It was not always a problem but too often it was. It was getting out of hand. There were a lot of people who stopped surfing Beacons or got really grouchy because of how lame it got.
